After Brexit: customs and documents
The United Kingdom is no longer in the EU customs union. Cargo heading to the UK clears EU export formalities and is declared on the UK side. We prepare the paperwork before the truck departs to avoid delays at the border.
What we offer
- FTL and LTL / groupage to the main UK hubs.
- Customs declarations for export and import, with EORI numbers.
- Crossing by ferry or the Channel Tunnel — chosen by deadline and cargo type.
- ADR and temperature control on request.
Why correct documents matter
A vague goods description, a missing EORI or a wrong code can hold the cargo at the port. Before dispatch we check the description, value and codes and align them with the customs broker on both sides.
Importing from United Kingdom to Latvia and the Baltics
We run the opposite direction too: cargo from London, Birmingham and other hubs to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. We arrange pick-up at the supplier, choose full load or groupage, prepare the paperwork and clear the import customs and deliver to your door.
Typical transit is 4–6 working days; the exact time is confirmed in the quote.
Key documents
- CMR consignment note
- Commercial invoice
- Customs declarations (EU export and GB import)
- EORI numbers (EU and GB)
- Certificate or statement of origin (where applicable)
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a customs declaration for United Kingdom?
Yes, the cargo crosses a customs border, so export and import declarations are required. We prepare and coordinate them.
Can you ship just one pallet?
Yes, smaller loads travel as groupage (LTL), though lead time can be longer because of customs formalities.
What is an EORI number and do I need one?
EORI is a customs registration number. Shipping to the UK usually requires both an EU and a GB EORI; we help you work out what you need.
